Favorite Beaches (Starting from the northern most beach)
Ke’e Beach (Ranked 2nd by Carsen and Cj)
If you head north to the very end of the road you will end up at Ke’e beach. It is a great beach for the kids to play and to snorkel. Since it shares the
parking lot with the start of the Napali Trail, parking can get tough, so it is best to get there early if at all possible. Also, there are not a lot of places to buy food or water after you leave the town of Hanalei, so you better bring food and water with you. You may also want to bring some frozen peas or some fish food to attract some fish when snorkeling. However, please bring only a little as to not overfeed. I usually bring a couple dozen peas or a half a slice of bread at the most. Also, in the winter months if there is north swells the conditions will not be good for snorkeling or swimming. Please follow all posted warning signs as ocean conditions can be dangerous on the north shore mainly in the winter months.
Hanalei Pier (Ranked 3rd by Carsen and Cj)

If you head north on the main road and into the town of Hanalei you will turn right before Chin Yung Shopping Center go to Weke Rd and turn right again and go all the way till the road ends and park. This beach will sometimes have some small waves which are great for beginners. If there are good little waves there will most certainly be some locals renting soft surfboards for you to hang loose or enroll in the surf school if you are a first timer. You can also fish off the end of the pier. Great beach where there will be locals and haolies enjoying the beach and water.
Kalihiwai (Ranked 1st by Carsen and Cj)
If you head south out of Princeville you will turn left on the second Kalihiwai Rd and then take another immediate left. Just keep going until the
road ends. If you do go to this beach you need to know that it is one of the few spots that the locals still have managed to keep fairly off the haolie radar so please respect. It is best to proceed to the far end near the stream. The stream is great for the kids to play in and there is usually not a lot of people at this beach.
Lydgate (Ranked 4th by Carsen and Cj)
Again head south and through the town of Kapaa and look for the signs for Lydgate Park. Here they have two man made wading areas that are protected by the surf from a lava rock barrier and a great playground. Fun place for the younger kids. Here too you can bring a little food to attract fish.
